With the the official 20/20 Vision for Schools announcement in January 2008 and a scheduled launch date of September 2008, here is a projected timeline of 20/20 Vision milestones for the 2008 calendar year. JANUARY

+ Public Announcement

+ Logo, branding strategy, and web launch

FEBRUARY

+ Website enhancements

+ Workshop presentations (available online and in groups) introducing vision, implementation strategy, and best practice tools

+ Begin church recruitment (Continue all year)

+ Identify possible summer service projects

MARCH

+ Begin bridge-building with schools and DOE (continue all year)

+ Forum with educators and clergy and students regarding community based collaborations for school reform (March or April)

APRIL-MAY

+ Complete logistics re. summer projects

+ Identify and/or develop students leadership curriculum

SUMMER

+ 15-20 school beautification projects

+ Finalize details re. pilot leadership club sites

SEPTEMBER

+ Back to School Sunday — Sept 14 (?) — official 20/20 launch date

// Presentation from adopted school principal

// Commissioning service of lay ministers, meaning anyone with any connection with a school, including: students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, custodians, secretaries, principals, coaches, etc

+ 71 churches adopting 71 schools by September (10% of 10% goal)

// 710 churches (10% of 7,100 churches in 5 boroughs) and 710 schools (50% of 1,400 NYC public schools) by Sept 2010

+ School-based leadership curriculum piloted in 5 schools

FALL

+ 71 churches at various levels of the adoption continuum (Prayer, Relationship, Project, Presence, Policy)

+ Growing relationships with 71 principals, faculty, administrators, etc

+ Trained laity and students equipped to redeem and transform public education

MONTHLY

+ Monthly prayer guides (bulletin inserts)

+ Monthly 20/20 article series
